4th July 2010, Visit to Joanna Buthello’s Ashram

Hi Friends, Happy Good Morng..!!!

This Sunday was very special to us and I would like to share with you the moments that we cannot forget all our life.

We visited the Joanna Buthello’s Ashram at Madh, Malad West. Joanna Buthello is a retired school teacher and she runs this ashram for the orphans. You can call her a one man army.  She provides shelter, Education and Health care to 70 children residing here.

I came to know about this ashram from Richelle, my office friend. And as part of our mission we decided to visit the ashram and donate the clothes and toys that we had collected. When we reached the ashram we were greeted by her children and within 5 min we all were like friends, I began to feel so close to them. We thought that the children wont leave us if we spend more time with them. All these children need is Love and Affection. And you will get back even more.

I thank Richelle, Chirag and Dr. Ashwini to be part of this event…!!!

I urge everyone to come forward and help and be a part of Joanna Buthello’s Ashram.

23.06.2010 Books Donation

Books are fountain of knowledge.  We come to know about our world thru Books. They develop the human minds and makes them possible to think in a wider horizon. It teaches us the way of life.

We should spread as much knowledge as possible to the world around us. The best way to spread knowledge is thru Books. Books are the institution of Knowledge.

But everyone is not so fortunate to get the books one desires.

Team Aritra is committed to ensure that the Books are not wasted as merely  ‘Raddi’  and they are transferred from one source to the needy ppl. It is thru this commitment that we have started a Collection Center for BOOKS.

As a part of this activity we have already donated books of  Std IV, V, VI, VII to the needy ppl.

Its our humble request to everyone to donate Books, may it be school books, story books and so on to the needy. You can even donate your books to us and we assure you that they will reach to the needy ppl. You may contact on 9920264344.

A New Beginning…

Hi Friends..!!! Wish you all a very Good Morning. This is my first Blog. I am not a writer or anything but thanks to Word-ex-press I got interested into writing a blog. I should also thank my friend Chirag to introduce me to such a wonderful internet tool. Well I have been thinking about this from quite a while but never got time to focus on it. Finally when I got a 1 week holiday I decided to pen down my thoughts. There is a popular dialogue in the movie 3 Idiots…”Life is a Race…” Yes Life has indeed become a race and we are running to achieve our goals, earn more money, status, and other materialistic things. Eventually our bank balance grow, we buy a car, a better house and live a better life. One fine day when we are travelling by our car, we stop at the signal; a poor woman comes by and begs for Re 1. The person sitting in the car says “chal huut, aage jao, jaane kahan se aate hain”. What a pity…!!! We are all created by almighty and we should thank God for being so generous to us and giving us a lovely, comfortable life. But at the same time why do we hate the less fortunate ppl. We may not hate them but we definitely dislike them. We should be more considerate to these people; anyways Re 1 is not going to make a big hole in our account. We often party and i am sure an average bill of 1 dinner is not less than Rs. 3000. And 1/100th of this bill can feed someone else. Imagine the children at the roadside; God only knows what they play with, what they eat, how they learn to live. We don’t help them coz of our selfishness…”What difference is it going to make by helping the woman at the signal, muze kya farak padta hain..!” We are wrong when we think this. All the anti-social elements get birth out of this poverty. And it may anytime reach our homes and affect us to a greater extent than we imagine. Increasing number of thefts, robberies, lack of education, and much more are all caused by poverty. I don’t want to elaborate more on this as we are wise enough to think about this. But more than this, it becomes our moral responsibility to help these people. So what do we do..? Where do we start from? What area should we select to start our work? I was pondering over these thoughts; I decided to start from the basics. The basic Human rights…ROTI, KAPDA aur CHHAT, (roof)i will not say makaan, as we all know about the booming real estate prices in Mumbai. Then comes EDUCATION which is absolutely essential for the overall development of a human being. And ofcourse EMPLOYMENT which enables one to achieve all the above 4 things. But it remains a fact that not all humans are fortunate enough to get the basic needs. And here we can play a major role in changing peoples’ lives. Even a small help every now and then can play a big role to provide food for somebody, clothes to some others, education to the street children. Wont you be happy to see that all the people in this world are happy, smiling. Just imagine the smile that you can bring on someone’s face by extending a small help. That smile is worth a million. With all this in mind I decided to start an organization ARITRA. Today I am the only member of this organization but I am sure my friends will join me in this noble cause and the organization would grow and spread smiles on millions of faces. And friends please dont laugh on me. I am pretty serious, and if you all are serious then come, join me. Jai Ho…!
